Hello everyone,
We're 2 months away from our big day, and we can't wait to see you all in the South of France! Here's everything you need to know to prepare your trip with peace of mind.
79 rue Carnot, Bormes-les-Mimosas
You'll likely be more guests than the Chiracs ever drew at Bormes mass!
Boulevard des Commandos d'Afrique, La Londe-les-Maures
The best value to stay close to the venues.
For cheaper options, look around Hyères centre, around €100 per night.
To be just minutes from the castle, look at hotels in La Londe-les-Maures.
The medieval village has only one main car park, parking Saint-François (paid) on two levels (P1 and P2), about 5 minutes' walk from the church. Parking du Pin (free) is a 15-minute walk away — and quite a climb! It's a fallback if Saint-François is full.
In summer, most of the medieval village is closed to cars outside the car parks — don't try to park in the streets.
Good to know: a free carpool area (10 spaces) is located at the village entrance, at the Verrerie roundabout (avenue Lou Mistraou, direction Saint-Tropez D98).
If you come in an electric vehicle: 9 charging stations are spread across the town (locations on the town hall website).
A variant of the 878 line (« 878 par aéroport ») goes directly from the airport to Bormes in ~28 min. Warning: very few departures during the day — check the ZOU website first.
Easier: a direct taxi (~22 min) from the rank at the Arrivals Hall exit.
Take bus 67 (Réseau Mistral) from the stop right outside the station (every ~10 min in July-August) to the stop « Hyères Centre — Joffre » (~10 min ride). From there, take line 878 directly to Bormes « Le Pin / Les Fontêtes » (~50 min). Or: a direct taxi from the station (~30 min).
Good to know: bus 67 also serves Tour Fondue (the ferry port for Porquerolles) — handy if you extend the weekend.
The bus station is right next to the train station. Take line 878 to Bormes « Le Pin / Les Fontêtes » in about 1 hour. Check the schedule on the ZOU website (link below).
ZOU schedules may change after 3 July 2026 (summer reinforcement) — check on zou.maregionsud.fr a few days before your trip.
The « Train des Pignes » greenway (former Toulon → Saint-Raphaël railway) crosses Bormes over 10.5 km. The climb up to the medieval village is doable on an e-bike but steep — and the roads aren't bike lanes.
Good to know: the tourist office is certified « Accueil vélo » (repair kit and bike parking nearby).
Place Gambetta, in the heart of the medieval village, is a lovely spot for a shaded lunch before the ceremony. Our favourite spots:
Book early — peak tourist season.
Good news: the buses that brought you to Bormes also stop near the castle! The closest stop is « La Decelle » (~5 min walk from the entrance), served by:
Otherwise: taxi/private hire or carpooling (~15 min by car). For the return at the end of the night, taxi/private hire is mandatory (no more buses).
Good news: at the castle, parking is very easy — no stress.
Our tip: take the route de Léoube rather than the fast road. It's more bucolic — and it's the route we'll take ourselves — follow the bride and groom!
Wheelchair accessibility: Taxi Charle, Coralie and Nathalie & Claude accept folding (non-electric) wheelchairs and assistance dogs.
Tip: book now. Around the 14th of July weekend, slots in the Var fill up fast.
Remember to book your taxi or private hire in advance for the return, especially if you plan to stay late.
Drape yourself in your finest evening gown, three-piece suit, OM football jersey… in short, come as you wish! But beware of the heat: bring a hat, fan and sunglasses.
And in your bag:
🚭 Smokers: please only smoke in the designated areas and never drop cigarette butts on the ground — wildfire risk is very high in the Var region in summer.
For the more adventurous: also pack a swimsuit. The beach is a 30-minute walk from the castle — perfect for catching sunrise after the all-nighter.
Good news for young parents: we've arranged two paediatric nurse babysitters on site until late at night. A nursery room will be set up in a quiet, air-conditioned room of the castle. Your children will be in the best hands, and you can enjoy the party with peace of mind.
Remember to pack travel cots and anything else useful for your children's comfort.
For those still around, we're extending the party gently with a brunch at the castle, with a pool and pétanque in the shade of the pines. You're very welcome — just let us know if you're coming so we can plan the right number of guests.
On Monday, we're heading to the beach in Porquerolles and visiting the Carmignac Foundation (contemporary art in a Provençal estate).
For Porquerolles, drop us a line by email or join the dedicated WhatsApp group to coordinate; for brunch, the little form above is all we need.
Many of you have asked about a wedding registry. Below is the link to our fund for our honeymoon.
A huge thank you to those who have already contributed!
